Description
OLAO’s Women’s Education and Capacity Building Project is designed to empower women in underserved communities with the knowledge, skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to achieve social and economic independence. The program focuses on equipping women—particularly those from vulnerable and marginalized backgrounds—with vocational skills, digital literacy, entrepreneurship training, and essential life skills to reduce unemployment, dependency, and poverty.
Through structured workshops, mentorship, and peer-to-peer learning, the project strengthens women’s leadership, creativity, and social responsibility. Participants are supported to initiate and manage small enterprises, engage in community development initiatives, and build resilience against challenges such as poverty, exclusion, and limited access to education and economic opportunities.
By fostering innovation and practical capacity, OLAO’s Women’s Education and Capacity Building Project aims to transform women into empowered change agents who contribute meaningfully to their families and communities while securing dignified and sustainable livelihoods.
Responsibilities
This project has the primary responsibility to design, coordinate, and lead all women-focused education and capacity-building activities.
Regular women’s group meetings are held to facilitate planning, skills training, peer learning, and leadership development. In addition, the project organizes and facilitates women’s retreats, training sessions, and community outreach activities aimed at personal growth, spiritual reflection, and economic empowerment.
The Women’s Education and Capacity Building Project has demonstrated strong success guided by five core principles: a clear definition of success centered on empowerment, the creation of safe and inclusive spaces where women can freely express themselves, the establishment of secure meeting environments, the development of women leaders from within the groups, and the continuous promotion of personal growth and practical skills development.
