Volunteering

Description

Humanitarian needs in our areas of operation have doubled over the last year where a lot of people require humanitarian assistance. The number of displaced people has also increased due to the unending civil and tribal wars in the neihgboring countries.

OLAO focuses on both emergency activities as well as development programmes focused on improving the well-being of children, women and families. The programmes are split between various sections: Communication for Development, Child Protection, Education, Emergency, Health/Nutrition and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH).

Responsibilities

In seeking to forward our voluntary work to the people  in  our community so as to address the above problems, we do work closely with other stake holders like the police, army, CBOs, local village councils and community elders.

From time to time, we welcome volunteers from within and from other parts of the World so as to address pressing community issues like Disease, Conflict Resolution, Water, Higiene and Sanitation hence embarking on the same Quick Impact Projects.

By the end of 2020, some 80 volutneers where serving in our areas of operation along with other stakeholders.
